TranscenDANCE – Ecstatic Dance

TranscenDANCE – Ecstatic Dance

Hi, Everyone!

Its been a loooong while since my last post! There’s just a lot going on in my life, as I’m sure is the same for you. My last post was about the Animal Rights March and many life changing things have happened since then that I won’t be able to share on this blog… for now, but also many great things, like….. SOLTI is finally available in Siargao, Iloilo, and El Nido! Wowowooo! And that, tomorrow, my friends and I will be launching an Ecstatic Dance Movement in Cebu called, TranscenDANCE! We’re so excited to start and we can’t wait to get feedback. Tomorrow is also my sister’s birthday and she was ever so kind to volunteer to be the DJ for the event :] Transcendance will be held in Asmara Urban Resort at 9 30 AM – 12 PM, PHP200 entrance including pool use for the day. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do ❤

For those of you who haven’t heard of ecstatic dance, it is a space for self expression, movement, and release. A space where you can move any way you want to, feel any way you need to, and be who you are, completely with no judgments.

Below is a video from the Byron Bay Spirit Festival that beautifully showcases what its like to be in an ecstatic dance.

Doesn’t it look like fun!? No drugs, no alcohol, just sober dance to beautiful music…

Details on our event can be seen on here. We do hope you can join us tomorrow, and if not tomorrow, next time! ❤

Much love and happiness to you all x

Stir Fry Miso Udon

Stir Fry Miso Udon

My quick, go-to meal. I am obsessed with noodles…

Prepare your udon noodles by cooking them in a pot of boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes and then putting them into a colander

Chop up garlic, green beans, tofu, and spring onion

Heat up a saucepan, pour some sesame oil and add the garlic

After 1 minute, pour in some soy sauce, sweet rice wine, sriracha
and a dash of maple syrup to taste

Add the string beans and cook for approximately 4 minutes while stirring

Add the tofu and a pinch of salt

Mix the udon into the saucepan and stir

Pour the noodles into a bowl, add the spring onions and throw in sesame seeds

Viola! Enjoy!

Green beans are high in fiber, great with preventing blood clots in arteries and veins, controls diabetes, is great for bone health, eye care, and also boosts your immunity! Tofu is high in protein, magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc, and vitamin B1. ♡ Plant based, baby!

Squash ‘n Barley Me

Squash ‘n Barley Me

Easy and filling! This meal is low in fat and a good source of protein, vitamin A + C + K + B6, dietary fiber, and magnesium.

Cook barley with 1 cup barley to 3 cup water ratio, chopped garlic and salt

Chop up more garlic for the squash

Cut squash up into medium sized cubes and heat in a pan with dairy-free butter or cooking oil of choice till cubes soften

Add apple cider vinegar, nutritional yeast, garlic salt and pepper to taste

Place in bowl and top with ground pistachios

Enjoy!

Behind The Solti Soul

Behind The Solti Soul

I have changed my website domain from 3 years of vanillaaddiction.com to thesoltisoul.com ☼

I thought, why change my content and not the title? So, after a long and thoughtful process, I decided on the solti soul.

I enjoy my lifestyle and I breathe my creation – SOLTI Activewear. For those of you who don’t know, SOLTI is a conscious brand that is dedicated to helping the environment by recovering and using waste fabrics to create locally handmade fashion for the active lifestyle. It’s not just about living a cruelty-free life, it’s about making myself and the world I live in a better place.

I know that we are on this planet with deeper and spiritual reasons which I can’t even explain, but we are here breathing, walking, eating, and living on this planet like we own it, as well as all the other creatures we’re supposed to share this planet with. This is what I hope to change. Life is about sharing, giving love, and caring for those in need, and for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Solti soul is me; the person who will fight to bring out more compassion in this world, and the woman behind SOLTI Activewear.

I hope you follow my journey and get inspired to live a rewarding life without harm, cruelty or discrimination.

Energy is only borrowed, one day we will have to give it back. ❤

They say that theres a reason why you take your kids to pick apples but don’t take them to a slaughter house, and Dana Ellyn’s paintings says it all-

What you don’t see or hear doesn’t exist, but the sorry truth is that it DOES. Every single day, thousands and thousands of animals are kept in confined spaces, are mistreated, and then slaughtered just to satisfy people’s taste buds for 10 minutes. And because no one actually sees this happening, how could it matter to them?

tumblr_o443wla4BS1v56l2uo1_1280

It all started when we were kids. Most of us ate whatever was put on our plates without question and without even being told where it came from. Advertisements on television showed hotdogs filled with cheese, burgers and spaghetti meat balls. Parents told us we had to drink lots of milk so we could grow big and strong, but no one taught us the process from animal to mouth, and why would they? Why teach anyone, especially kids about the harm caused to these animals? If they were educated about it, they probably wouldn’t eat it and that couldn’t happen because what else would they eat? “Its takes too much trouble to be a vegan/vegetarian”– and this is only because we, too were not educated on this type of diet.

In my opinion, just because eating meat is human tradition, habit and some say, a key to survival, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t teach children how their food is made. We all knew chicken came from a chicken, pork came from a pig, and beef came from a cow, but we didn’t know what goes behind the process of animal farming, and some of us still don’t know. When we were kids, most of us loved animals and still do, so when was it okay for us to think that it was right to kill and eat them? When was is okay to eat a pig but not a dog? How did we learn to eat the way we do?

I wish I questioned what was on my plate. I wish I was taught about the horrors of the meat industry, even at a young age. I think it is important to know and to share to our children about what is going into their bodies, and of course, what happens to these helpless animals when they’re kept in factories. These days, most to all inorganic meat produce contains antibiotics, unnatural flavour enhancers and other toxic chemicals. Educating yourself about the food you eat is by far the most important thing I think anyone should strive to do.

What you’re putting into your body is what makes you. You digest it, whether it’s healthy or harmful for you.

“IF YOU CAN’T WATCH THE PROCESS, YOU SHOULDN’T BE EATING IT.”
